Bio-Rad needed to meet the U.S. SEC's Conflict Minerals reporting requirements — identifying whether tin, tantalum, tungsten, or gold (3TG) in its products originated from conflict-affected and high-risk regions, and reporting on it accurately every year.

The requirement itself wasn't optional, but how it got met mattered just as much. Bio-Rad needed a compliance process that ran reliably in the background without disrupting day-to-day operations.
